Two scored fights this week and both are in the same building on Saturday night. Andy Ruiz was dropped in the seventh and beaten over twelve in Newark, and Dave Allen’s night ended in eighty-two seconds when his opponent fell out of the ring.
September 5 Fight Preview: Katie Taylor Boxes for Undisputed at Junior Welterweight in Front of 80,000 at Croke Park in the Last Fight of Her Career, and Andy Ruiz Returns After Two Years in Newark
Seven scored fights across four cities between Wednesday and Saturday, and one world championship among them. Katie Taylor defends the WBO, WBA and IBF junior welterweight titles and boxes for the vacant WBC against the unbeaten Flora Pili at Croke Park, and she has said it is the last night of her career. In Newark, Andy Ruiz comes back from two years out, and the best-rated fight of the week is the middleweight one beneath him.
